What to expect after surgery
For guidance only: every patient is different, and Dr. Alfonso gives you a personalized care plan.

Mild discomfort and possible swelling of the forehead. Graft care and sleeping semi-upright.
- Days 7–10
Scabs come off with the recommended washes. Back to office work within a few days.
- Weeks 2–8
It is normal for the transplanted hair to fall out (shock loss): the follicle remains and grows back.
- Months 3–6
New growth begins and the change becomes visible month by month.
- 12–18 months
Final result, with greater hair density and thickness.

Compression garment from the start and light walking to promote circulation.

Is a hair transplant painful?
It is done under local anesthesia, so the main discomfort is the moment of the injection. After surgery, discomfort is usually mild and is managed with pain relievers prescribed by Dr. Alfonso.
How long does recovery take?
With an FUE hair transplant, most patients return to office work within a few days; scabs come off between days 7 and 10. With LipoVaser you walk from day one and resume light activities within a few days, wearing a compression garment for several weeks.
When will I see the final result?
With a hair transplant, growth begins between months 3 and 4 and the final result is seen between months 12 and 18. With LipoVaser the result becomes visible once the swelling goes down, usually between months 3 and 6.
Is it normal for the transplanted hair to fall out?
Yes. Between the second and eighth week it is common for the implanted hair to fall out (shock loss). The follicle stays in the scalp and starts producing hair again in the following months.
Will people notice I had surgery?
The FUE technique does not leave a linear scar: it leaves tiny dots in the donor area that are barely visible unless the hair is cut very short. If you need maximum discretion, there is the option of a no-shave hair transplant.
Am I a candidate for a hair transplant?

Does LipoVaser help you lose weight?
